Qwiet Type - Leveling Up
Pop, Rock
Florida, U.S.
Overall Impression: "Leveling Up" is an exciting and life-affirming new release from Florida-based recording artist, Qwiet Type. Combining rousing indie dance-rock with elements of pop, electronica and new wave, this slick and sophisticated mid-tempo track features a steady four-on-the-floor beat that's enveloped by glistening synths and serpentine rhythm guitar. Swirling leads wash over a stylish and powerful bass line in support of layered male vocals that convey a refreshing message of positivity and self-assurance, through an incredibly infectious hook and compelling melodies. Qwiet Type's "Leveling Up" should resonate with a wide audience, thanks to its inclusive modern sound and uplifting lyrical content.
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, excellent mix. Great tonal balance and clarity. Nice intro, does well to set the overall mood. Fantastic four-on-the floor groove, the kick has terrific punch to it. Amazing bass line. Gorgeous synth choices. Nice guitar tones. Love the brass stabs. The production elements (filters, delays, etc.) add a ton of interesting character and color. Stellar vocal performance and production, nice layering. Brilliant lyrical content; positive messaging, solid flow and a stellar titular hook that really sells the song. The possibilities are vast for this track, it has a sound that's very much "now" and an almost anthemic chorus, not to mention the killer beat that will drive listener engagement. Tremendous work on this one, from top to bottom.
