Dress To Kill - Cruella DeVil
Pop, 80s, SynthWave
Ottawa, Canada

Overall Impression: Guitar-heavy and covered in Rock edges, Cruella DeVil is a slight departure from Dress To Kill's recent output. Fortunately, it is a departure that will raise the wild spirits of all who join in. The heavy drum pulses drill their way into the listener's mind, but any discomfort is soon alleviated by the tune's glamorous and proud attitude. This is an indulgent and unashamed piece of Pop Rock with lyrics that will have you hot and bothered or running for the hills. The chorus is addictive and consuming. It stays in your head well after the tune has finished, and doesn't mind showing up unannounced later in the day. This is made all the more effective by the blistering guitar work that helps set this song apart. Defying expectations, Dress To Kill struts out the door with Cruella DeVil by throwing in an extra chorus that nobody asked for but secretly wanted all along.

Strongest Point(s): The catchiness of Cruella DeVil should be illegal. The chorus is so fun and singable, it is almost a relief when it comes back the final time. It is great to hear the band stretch their legs and make a more guitar heavy tune. It holds nothing back and is very effective.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Pop Rock with a Glamorous 80's twist will dig Cruella DeVil by Dress To Kill.

Artist target suggestions: The Sex Pistols, The Cure, The Human League, David Bowie, Gary Numan, Simple Minds, Quiet Riot, Cheap Trick, Joy Division, Queen, My Chemical Romance, Pet Shop Boys, Kiss
