Dany L Blackburn's "Shake Something" is a spectacular display of her skills as a writer, performer and producer, and should have little to no problem finding an audience among current reggaeton, r&b and hip hop fans.
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, amazing mix. Great tonal balance. Remarkable beat design, excellent variations on traditional rhythmic patterns. Nice choices of drum samples; the kicks, hats and claps all sound fantastic. Same goes for the synth choices, just a super compelling sonic palette that is certain to keep listeners engaged. Vocals sound incredible, great vocal arranging and production in addition to the strong performance. Lyrics are both thoughtful and festive with solid rhyme schemes and flow, containing some brilliant hooks. All in all, this is a terrific song and a polished track that should be able to cross genre lines with ease, opening up a multitude of possibilities audience-wise. Tremendous work on this one, from start to finish!
