Robert Ocean Band - Hang On
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Indie Acoustic Rock, Acoustic Rock
Surrey, Canada

Overall Impression: Opening with a laid-back guitar groove, Hang On by Robert Ocean Band reveals an artistic softness before developing into a catharsis of Alternative Rock energy. The band holds down top notch support for the vocals, while displaying their own knack for killer tone and melody. As with his other output, Robert Ocean's vocals radiate with an inspiring power. He fully commits to the performance and gives listeners a spine chilling delivery. Although completely polished, there is a rawness to Hang On that completely steals the listener's attention. It glances at the troubles that consume us, and encourages us to keep moving forward. With the release of Hang On, Robert Ocean Band displays a clear command of songwriting that leaves listeners coming back for more.

Strongest Point(s): The music in Hang On deserves a special note. The groove has a chilled out island vibe that instantly calms the listener down. This is in contrast to Ocean's intense vocals, but the combination of the two works. There is never a dull moment in Hang On, due mainly to this juxtaposition of mood. It gives a sense of overcoming and dealing with something painful, while still being in a dreamlike environment.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Alternative Rock will enjoy Hang On by Robert Ocean Band.

Artist target suggestions: Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Sixpence None The Richer, Bush, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Audioslave, Chris Cornell, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Kings of Leon, Pearl Jam, Silverchair, Mr. Big, The Black Crowes
