No Exit - Skyhook - Spend a Little Time
Rock
Pennsylvania, United States

Overall Impression: NO EXIT's "Spend a Little Time" is a hard rocking reminder to live life in the moment, and to make the most of the time we have together. This hook-laden mid tempo rocker opens with a larger-than-life drum beat complete with cowbell, and features a guitar heavy arrangement that's highlighted by a smoking hot instrumental break. A filtered male vocal carries the memorable melody with a clear and confident delivery, backed by powerful full group vocals in the catchy refrains. Meticulous production and muscular riffs make NO EXIT's "Spend a Little Time" an easy recommendation for rock audiences, and its universal message will resonate with a broad range of listeners.

Strongest Point(s): Incredible production, fantastic mix. Truly sounds radio ready. Great energy throughout. Drums sound incredible, great punch. Wonderful guitar tones. Amazing vocal performances and production. The vocal filter sounds great in the verse, and the harmony stacks in the chorus really pop. Really nice folky, roots rock style melody and chord progression in the verse that contrasts well with the big, arena rock chorus. Good dynamic contrast between the two as well. Loved the instrumental break in the middle, spreading the love around the rhythm section and setting up the guitar solo. Excellent inclusive messaging in the lyrics that should really connect with listeners, and nice repetition that definitely drives that great hook home. Overall, it's a great inspirational rock tune and a remarkable track that was a joy to review. Terrific job on this one!
