Saffrion - Resurrection (Reggae)
Reggae, Dancehall
New York, United States

Overall Impression: The grooves are most certainly strong with this one! Saffrion's gospel-infused reggae track, "Resurrection" presents its listeners with plenty of that groovy reggae-edged swagger and even greater melodic charm, managing to whimsically transport its listeners to the sun-drenched shores of the Caribbean whilst holding a potent message close to its heart. There is a clear Gospel influence woven into "Resurrection's" lyrical themes, and whilst this certainly helps give the track a great sense of meaning and depth, this is cleverly juxtaposed with the more rhythmically flamboyant style that the reggae genre is so synonymous with, creating a potent blend of feelings and emotions that listeners will find alluring.

Strongest Point(s): "Resurrection" really does nail the reggae style down to a tee, from the emphasis on the upbeat in the guitar parts to the brilliant inclusion of brass at key moments in the track, Saffrion really encompasses what the style is all about and is clearly passionate about presenting as authentic an experience as possible to her listeners. Saffrion's vocals have a particularly smooth and delicate quality to them that is both inviting and relatable, and there's a definite poignancy to her lyric writing that certainly grabs your attention.

Target Audience Appeal: Reggae fans will surely find "Resurrection" to be a solid listening experience.

Artist target suggestions: Khalia, Jah Cure, Th3rd Coast Roots, Tribal Seeds, Bugle, Passafire, Iya Terra, Stick Figure, Rebelution, HIRIE, The Green
