Exiled Man - Mo Chailín Beag
Rock, Irish Rock
Missouri, United States
Overall Impression: Fresh off of their first EP, Exiled Man has released the new tune Mo Chailin Beag. Powered by a quick groove, Mo Chailin Beag drives forward with an Irish Folk Rock sound that keeps the energy high and light. The mandolin, bodhrán, and guitars lay down an incredibly colorful bed of support for the vocals and nail the Folk sound Exiled Man was going for. Lyrically, the tune approaches aging, life, and the father-daughter relationship with the finesse of a poem. It pulls at the listener's heartstrings while the music keeps the mood elevated. The melodies and vocal delivery are fitting for Irish Folk, and leave the impression of a somewhat raucous pub celebration. Overall, Mo Chailin Beag by Exiled Man is an enjoyable listen that fans of Irish Folk Rock will welcome with open arms.
Strongest Point(s): The lyrics in Folk/Folk Rock can vary wildly in their importance. Some tunes are deep and moving, others seem to be about nothing at all. Mo Chailin Beag finds its place among the the more emotional and heartfelt. They can be interpreted a few different ways, but the lyrics ultimately deal with tough aspects of life - getting older, wondering where the days went, and our impact on those around us. Care has been given to their meaning and phrasing, and it pays off.
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Irish Rock and Folk are sure to dig Mo Chailin Beag by Exiled Man.
