Derrick Sena - Daydreaming In Kodachrome
Jazz, Instrumental
California, United States

Overall Impression: Day Dreaming in Kodachrome is a new jazz tune by Derrick Sena. Featuring trumpet, piano, bass, drums, and some light strings, Day Dreaming in Kodachrome has an airy atmosphere over a mellow groove. The trumpet soloist plays with a confident presence, beautiful tone and vibrato, and lots of color. Their smart use of a mute holds listener's attention until the final notes. The pianist has a soft touch, and always lays back with the beat to paint a nostalgic picture. Overall, the solos are creative and tell a story just as dreamy as the initial tune. With a laid back tempo, gorgeous melody, and top-notch players, Day Dreaming in Kodachrome is a fantastic new jazz tune that hits all the marks.

Strongest Point(s): There is a lot of great things going on with this track. It is tough to try and narrow it down. One aspect I greatly appreciate is how laid back the overall feel is. You can really lean back in your chair and just enjoy the tune.
