Nfusion - Fade Away
Jazz, Funky
Kortrijk, Belgium

Overall Impression: Diving into the sonic space with a mysteriously commanding bass and guitar duet, Nfusion's Fade Away bears an ominously foreboding tone that quickly gives way to soothing and sentimental melodic movements - beautifully capturing the underlying emotional tension of the lyrics. Written for a family member suffering from Lewy Body dementia, Fade Away tackles the juxtaposition of a loved one's physical presence but mental departure through complex and evocative Jazz-infused harmonies and simply sweet Pop melodies, coalescing in a deeply moving piece of audio artistry.

Strongest Point(s): Phenomenal playing from start to finish - that bass tone and line feel magnetic and make for a very impressive opening statement, and the guitar and keys maintain wonderfully understated sonic presence. The gradual inclusion of other voices feels fully impactful at 0:33 where the feel changes briefly into the more sentimental, optimistic side of the track and then back into the darker driving tone. Gorgeous lyrics delivered with audible passion - extremely engaging. Excellent solos from 2:00 - 3:14, culminating in a really satisfying sax run and an emotionally salient bridge before the piano wind-down. Sincerely well-conceived composition and masterfully executed. This is wonderful work.

Target Audience Appeal: There are certain timeless qualities to Fade Away that should resonate well with fans of retro-feel Pop and Jazz-infused Pop - with the fullness of artistry within the track drawing a strong narrative line in a fully engaging way. Nfusion's style in Fade Away speaks to a very thoughtful and intentional sort of musicality, highlighted by such meaningful and poignant lyrical content. All together, Nfusion's Fade Away contains a musical sophistication that should intrigue casual and seasoned listeners alike, and a lyrical narrative that stands to speak directly to the life experiences of a significant portion of the population. Gorgeous sounds, thank you for sharing! - Jon W.
