Dress To Kill - Night Talk
Pop, 80s, Synthwave
Ottawa, Canada

Overall Impression: After nearly 40 years, Dress To Kill have released their 1987 Pop tune Night Talk. A blast from the past, Night Talk grooves with New Wave, Electronic, and 80's Pop overtones. Wavy guitars and synthesizers ripple across the dance floor, signaling listeners to the front of the stage. The lyrics creep in with themes of rumors, misunderstandings, and back stabbing. While sung with a poppy tone, they vibrate with a slight sense of paranoia. The chorus rings out overhead with an irresistible hook, proving that what was catchy in the 80's is still catchy today. As the tune progresses, listeners are journeyed through guitar solos and instrumental breaks that pulse with style and a cool attitude. With the release of Night Talk, Dress To Kill have given listeners a fine dose of nostalgia and closed the books on a very cool project.

Strongest Point(s): Night Talk is a solid tune all around. The melodies, groove, and overall sound work very well and it is great to have this tune out in the open. Considerably impressive is the fact this was recorded on a 4 track in 1987, and touched up this last year. The audio quality has not seemed to suffer and stands strong next to its New Wave counterparts.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of 80's Pop, New Wave, and Electronic music will dig Night Talk by Dress To Kill.

Artist target suggestions: Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, The Talking Heads, Fashion, Gary Numan, Ultravox, New Order, The Human League, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rick Astley, Gary Barlow, Tears For Fears, The Cure
