Jessi Golden - If I Fall
Folk, Singer/Songwriter, Acoustic
Michigan, United States
Overall Impression: A smoky air of sophistication and rawness with a young fresh voice, Jessi Golden expresses all that and more in her new single " If I fall". The song is one of love, infatuation and desire, how you can't get enough of that person. Golden's mood is calm, cool and collected as is the song, it's lingering folk song that has a total indie/coffeehouse vibe to it. A blend of folk and indie rock that will be a hit with lovers of folk, folk-rock, college students and the coffeehouse set.
Strongest Point(s): Vocally, Golden's vocals are raw, raspy, and have a sexy, folk-rock edge that has a great sound. Her voice is breathy and airy and has a great edgy tone to her voice that has a bit of a country feel to it. Her voice is right up there with the vocals of artists, like Anna Nalick, Jewel, Brandi Carlile and Fiona Apple. In addition to that, is the instrumental performance on the acoustic and folk guitar. There's a nice blend of melodic chords and accents on the guitar and bass as well.
Target Audience Appeal: Fans of folk, indie, soft pop and alternative music.
Artist target suggestions: Anna Nalick, The Pretenders, Joan Jett, Garbage, Berlin, Ray LaMontagne, Sarah Siskind, Whitney, Kelsey Lu, Jeff Buckley, Lisa Germano, Beth Orton, Kari Newhouse.
