Strongest Point(s): Feeling far more like a space than a song, "Akito's Madness" offers a great deal of subtlety in its composition, from the tones being used to their various entrances and exits from the soundscape. The underlying backbone to the track is this eternally rolling synth bass line - managing to maintain its presence throughout the experience without ever losing its appeal. The constant presence of that ostinato establishes such a commanding baseline experience that small additions and subtractions to the scene leave big impressions. For instance, at about 2:41 the beat drops out and Eleanor introduces subtle harmonizer tones, segueing into a potent re-entry of the beat at 3:13 - ramping up intensity without really adding much at all! Then the bass line is joined by a brighter layer of the same repeated part an octave or two higher, so subtly introduced that it practically sneaks up on the listener. What results is more of a "feeling" of lift than any kind of blatant or obvious change in the sound - maintaining a nearly trancelike quality throughout the track and allowing the listener to fully lose themselves along the way!
