The Bricktone Project - Why Don't We Go For A Ride
R&B, Rock, Pop
Illinois, United States

Overall Impression: A quirky and unique composition “Why Don’t We Go For A Ride”, by songwriter and musician Tom Formanek is an eclectic mix of pop, techno and jazz. Formanek is a seasoned songwriter and musician who has been writing and performing songs for over 20 years. A jack of all trades, he writes is a composer, lyricist, singer and records and produces all of his music. The foundation and base of his music is influenced by the music of the sixties and seventies, and influenced by bands like The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Mamas and The Papas and Simon & Garfunkel. The signature sounds of the ‘70s can certainly be heard on his latest release, which could easily be featured in a jingle, commercial radio or tv ad or movie soundtrack. This track is for music lovers who appreciate techno and instrumental music and soundtracks.

Strongest Point(s): The melody is certainly interesting, catchy and easy to bob your head to as well as memorable, it will become an earworm in no time. The sound of the keyboard has an organ sound and feel to it, and sounds almost techno and robotic with the added effects and accents in the song. The song mimics the sound you would hear from your favorite video game growing up, retro video games like Atari. The sound has a polka feel, thanks to the organ/accordian sound. It's a lively, happy melody with repeated and synthesized chords, and lots of little changes, accents and nuances throughout the composition. It's a composition that sparks wonder and curiosity about all the various avenues it could be pursued in.

Target Audience Appeal: For fans of pop, jazz, soul reggae, soundtracks and instrumental music, and bands like The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Mamas and the Papas.

Artist target suggestions: Syleena Johnson, Chrisette Michelle, Amel Larrieux, Marsha Ambrosius, Kelly Price, Robin Thicke, Jennifer Hudson, Angie Stone, Kelis, Leela James, Elle Varner, Macy Gray, Lauren Hill, Amerie, Lady Gaga, Robyn, Fergie, Bruno Mars, Abba, Justin Timberlake, Rico Love, Musiq Soulchild, Tai Cruz, Chris Brown, and The Weeknd.
