WIld Rainbows - Drifting Girl
Rock
Lugano, Switzerland
Overall Impression: "Drifting Girl" is an impressive new release from Swiss rock duo, Wild Rainbows. Comprised of Sabrina Clivati (vocals) and Stefano Roberti (guitar), Wild Rainbows weave a colorful tapestry of sound on "Drifting Girl." This downtempo track employs mesmeric guitars, swirling organs, and slamming rock drums to set the stage perfectly for Clivati's powerful and stirring vocal performance. Drawing inspiration from 1960's psychedelic rock as well as 1990's shoegaze, Wild Rainbow's "Drifting Girl" should have broad appeal with rock audiences across the board, thanks to its polished production and high levels of musicianship.
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, excellent mix. Great tonal balance. Nice stereo width on the guitar tracks. Fantastic guitar tones, both on the tremolo arpeggiated rhythm track and the clean leads. Drums are punchy and crisp, cutting right through with tremendous clarity and authority. Organ and bass sit nicely in the mix, and do well to fill out the sound. Brilliant vocal performance, simply an amazing female rock voice with exceptional power in the upper register. This track has a wonderfully restrained energy and intensity to it, perfect for this style and genre. Terrific job, all around!
