Overall Impression: "Be Youthful" is a wonderfully light and lively piece for piano and strings, from talented Canadian composer Theresa Yun Sze Lo. This work is in the key of D major and played at a brisk allegro tempo, which lends to its playful and whimsical nature. "Be Youthful" starts strong out of the gate, emphatically stating its succinct, two measure motif at the very top, before exploring and extrapolating upon said motif in a dynamic and elegant fashion. Brilliant voicing and use of counter melodies create a captivating arrangement that engages the audience, instilling a sense of curiosity and wonder in the listener. Classical music enthusiasts should definitely check out "Be Youthful", as well as Theresa Yun Sze Lo's other fine works.
Strongest Point(s): Gorgeous composition. Great motif, plainly and forcibly stated and restated. Excellent variations on the theme, especially with the piano. Very nice voice leading in the string heavy sections. Outstanding energy and atmosphere throughout the piece. Whatever sound library you used here sounds great. The articulations and dynamics are fantastic for a software created work. To your specific points, the piece has a strong sense of melody and tonality, staying within the cadence established in the motif and never wavering from the home key of D major. I also feel that the title "Be Youthful" is very appropriate, given the enthusiastically buoyant nature of the composition. Overall, it's an exceptional piece, and a wonderful recording.
