Benevolent & Divine - Hyacinth
Alternative/Alt.Rock
New York, United States
Overall Impression: "Hyacinth" is a dynamic and captivating new release from the musical artist known as Benevolent & Divine. Powerful and earnest, this mid tempo track features an exciting post-rock sound that's highlighted by powerful, heartfelt male vocals describing a difficult and emotional breakup. Swirling guitar riffs mesh with vibrant drumming to create an impressive wall of sound that should appease any modern rock enthusiast, making Benevolent & Divine's "Hyacinth" an easy recommendation for any and all fans of the genre.
Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, decent mix. Great energy. Very nice vocal performance, especially in your upper register. Good vocal layering and fx. Guitar tone is well suited for this style, has a very contemporary, indie rock quality, and you've got some nice, catchy riffs there. Drums sound really good, although at times they can get buried. Perhaps by applying stronger compression to the drum bus, it would allow you to bring them up some and get them to sit more comfortably in the overall mix. Lyrics are great, honest and emotional, should definitely resonate strongly with listeners. All in all, it's a solid track and a fine piece of work.
