Aaron Marlowe - Don't Look Now (2021)
Rock, Singer/Songwriter
Tennessee, United States
Overall Impression: Being a fan of the genre myself, I always get excited when coming across artists who endeavor to keep the spirit of the rock alive and kicking, and when it's done well, as is the case with Aaron Marlowe's "Don't Look Now", that excitement is magnified greatly. Opening with a highly melodic and emotive twin lead guitar harmony part, the track wastes no time in establishing its credentials as a well-versed and inspired piece of rock songwriting that manages to balance its classic and contemporary elements extremely well.
Strongest Point(s): The performances are very strong indeed, the lead vocals have a particularly modern edge to them that is paired well with the more classic-styled musical accompaniment that backs and there is a clear sense of strong synergy between the musicians that helps further strengthen the engaging nature of the performances tenfold. The lyrics are both deeply emotive and thematically fitting for the slower and more delicate tempo that the track adopts and Aaron's eloquent vocal delivery really helps inject them with the level of gracefulness that they require. The lead guitar parts are superb and add some great tonal color to the track and provide excellent melodic contour to the song that contrasts beautifully with both the vocals and strong rhythmic accompaniment.
Target Audience Appeal: This is a solid rock tune and lovers of the genre will surely appreciate it.
Artist target suggestions: Neil Young, 3 Doors Down, Kansas, Daughtry, Fuel, David Cook, Fuel, Nickelback, Saving Abel, Hinder
