Peter Rappoli - Cracked Cataract
Rock
Boston, United States
Overall Impression: "Cracked Cataract" is an exciting new release from singer/songwriter Peter Rappoli. Raw and visceral, this blues rock boogie really cooks. Heavily filtered vocals awash in reverb flow effortlessly atop crunchy, jagged guitar riffs on this track, which is highlighted by its breakneck shuffle groove, punk rock energy, and an incredibly hypnotic refrain. Rock and blues fans across the board need to check out "Cracked Cataract", as well as Peter Rappoli's other music, available on all major streaming platforms.
Strongest Point(s): Nice production. Outstanding guitar tone. Great vocal performance, and excellent vocal production. That megaphone-like filter works great in the context of the song. Harmonies sound really good on the hook. Fantastic groove at that tempo, remains consistent throughout. I would have liked to have heard a little more bottom end in the mix, and less high highs (especially in the hats). The bass and kick tend to get buried. Overall, its a solid track with wonderful energy and passion. Very nice work here!
