NOS Jones - Leave the gun....take the cannoli
Alternative/Alt.Rock, Pop, Progressive Rock
California, United States

Overall Impression: Highly inventive and bursting with originality, "Leave the gun...Take the Cannoli" (What a song title!) is a rip-roaring fusion-inspired instrumental that combines a marvelous display of unbridled energy and an undeniably high level of musicianship. NOS Jones offers up an eclectic mix of styles that makes for both a wholly unique and thoroughly engaging piece of writing that is full of vivid melodic ideas and a quirky sense of personality.

Strongest Point(s): There is an excellent blend of styles in "Leave the gun...Take the Cannoli" that results in nothing short of a fascinating listening experience from start to finish. Jazz, prog, rock, and even Latin-inspired elements have been brilliantly intertwined throughout the track, helping to create a great sense of adventure and excitement in the arrangement, which for any instrumental-based piece of music is certainly a big contributing factor to how effective it is. Both melodically and rhythmically there is an abundance of variety on display and when combined with the timbrally diverse instrumentation, this ensures listeners are kept continually captivated throughout. Melodies bounce off one another with animated precision and flair whilst the intricate interplay between the instruments helps give the song a definite sense of dynamism.

Target Audience Appeal: This is a bit of a tricky one, but that's certainly a compliment, this is a very unique instrumental and I'm sure fans of the more fusion'esque and wilder side of instrumental music will have a great time with this tune.

Artist target suggestions: Chick Corea, Genesis, Snarky Puppy, Yes, FORQ, Benny Greb, The Fearless Flyers, Shaun Martin, Krakatau Reunion, Max Ox, Oz Noy, Tribal Tech, Cosmosquad
