Frederick Wilfert - Shattered Dreams
Alternative/Alt. Rock, Rock and Roll, Ballads
Virginia, United States
Overall Impression: For singer/songwriter Fredrick Wilfert, songwriting is his passion, it’s not only something that seems to come easy to him but also his way to touch and inspire the lives of others, especially his listeners. His sound is simply a fusion of folk and rock with a hint of country. Wilfred is inspired by the sounds of the ’60s and ’70s and that is reflective in sound and compositions. His music is easy to follow and enjoy from listeners of all backgrounds, but fans of country, folk, folk-rock, and singer/songwriters will enjoy all Wilfert has to offer. Wilfert's latest release "Shattered Dreams" is classical country, folk at its best.
Strongest Point(s): The combination of Wilfert's vocals and melody complement each other nicely, and Wilfert's voice has a bluesy, folk quality to it that is relaxing and calming. The contrast of the piano and guitar create interest and dimension to the song. The piano is played delicately emulating the sound of the keys being struck one at a time played in a higher pitch and creates a brighter tone whereas the guitar chords are richer and deeper in sound and have a tempo with a faster pace. The piano adds sophistication to the classical, country-folk feel.
Target Audience Appeal: For fans of folk, folk-rock, country, and singer/songwriters. Fans of the Beatles, James Taylor, and Jackson Browne will enjoy his music as well since his vocal style and songwriting are reminiscent of those artists.
Artist target suggestions: John Denver, Kenny Loggins, The Beach Boys, Art Garfunkel, Glen Campbell, Steve Winwood, John Waite, Jefferson Starship, Bob Seger, Joe Cocker, Christopher Cross, Journey, Reo Speedwagon, Foreigner, Styx, John Prine, Lyle Lovett, Randy Newman, Glenn Frey, Meatloaf, Roy Orbison, Toto, Peter Gabriel, Anne Murray, Joan Baez, Shawn Colvin, and Eric Clapto
