The Cullinans - Good For Me
Soul, Pop, R&B
Illinois, United States

Overall Impression: "Good For Me" is the latest release from Illinois based band, The Cullinans. This is an easygoing indie pop track that instills a wonderful feeling of tranquility in the listener, thanks in part to the laid back groove, flanged out guitars, and the mellifluous relaxed baritone vocals that give it a very "lounge" like quality. The vibe of this song is best summed up in its lyric, "Sittin' by the water, sunning all day. Listening to the music of the breeze and waves." The Cullinans' "Good For Me" is an easy recommendation for any fans of mellow pop, with a soulful, lo-fi aesthetic.

Strongest Point(s): Great job of creating and maintaining a tranquil atmosphere, one that does well to support the vocal style. The vocal itself has a pleasant crooner quality to it. Lyrics have a nice flow, with some lovely imagery. A very unique sound overall, which makes it hard to really draw comparisons or to pigeonhole into one specific genre, which I consider to be a strength. The mix could probably use a little fine tuning before being mastered, but other than that I think this is a fine piece of work in general.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Indie Pop, Psychedelic Pop, Soft Rock, Chill Pop, Indie Rock, Lo-fi Pop

Artist target suggestions: Yo La Tengo, Neutral Milk Hotel, Beach House, Pink Floyd, Donavan, Rain Parade, The Velvet Underground, Deerhunter, Tame Impala, Mac DeMarco, Temples, Glass Animals, Pavement, Guided by Voices
