Collo - Waiting For That Time
Rock, Alt.Rock, Indie Rock
Melbourne, Australia

Overall Impression: Led by an incredibly strong lead vocal performance and containing a great deal of both style and flair, "Waiting for that Time" is a fantastic blend of hard rock and alternative styles that combines a deft sense of melody with accomplished songwriting prowess. Having reviewed a previous track by talented writer and producer Collo, I knew that the writing, arranging, and performances were going to be of a particularly high standard and it's safe to say that "Waiting for that Time" continues this trend brilliantly. Collo knows how to write interesting guitar-based music and isn't afraid to take musical risks here and there, thus ensuring you're always in for a varied and fascinating listening experience.

Strongest Point(s): As to be expected, the performances are excellent, from the stellar guitar playing to the highly expressive nature of the vocals, there is a great deal of musicianship on display here that does a fantastic job of bringing the song and its many elements to life. Collo has done a sterling job of creating a diverse soundscape by means of well-chosen instrumentation and the tonal variation between different areas of the arrangement. For example, the overdriven main guitar riff on the left contrasts extremely well with the wah-infused guitar on the right, hence two electric guitar parts that are significantly different from one another in terms of timbre. Similarly, the thick and chunky nature of the bass contrasts with the treble-natured synth string section, every area of the mix has been accounted for, culminating in a rich and textured arrangement that has tremendous depth to it.

Target Audience Appeal: This is a great mix of hard and alternative rock styles and fans of both these genres will enjoy what "Waiting for that Time" has to offer.

Artist target suggestions: Halestorm, Roxette, Genesis, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Forever Still, Fit For Rivals, The Nearly Deads, Cilver, The Agonist, Cold Kingdom, Bad Seed Rising, Pat Benatar
