Allan Juhl Petersen - Believe in Angels
Classical, Instrumental, Film Score
Hvidovre, Denmark

Overall Impression: Highly ambitious in scope and filled to the brim with both melodic and harmonic maturity, "Believe in Angels" is a beautifully crafted composition that ebbs and flows with a great amount of grace and decorum whilst managing to paint a vividly detailed and texture filled soundscape that is highly absorbing. Allan Juhl Peterson does a very fine job of bringing his many diverse musical ideas to life with the utmost competence and vision, the end result is a wonderfully free-flowing piece that has plenty to offer to the classical lover.

Strongest Point(s): Melodically there is an abundance of great ideas on display and it's clear that a lot of thought has gone into how melodic themes are both handled and developed. Melodic motifs play an important role in any classical piece of music and it's great to see that a great deal of time and attention to detail has been given to ensure this area is particularly strong, the end result is a cohesive and thematically well-connected piece of music that flows very well. The instrumentation is varied and offers a lot of tonal and timbral diversity, whether its the soft pizzicato strings or the highly expressive and undeniably sultry sound courtesy of the brass, every section of the instrumentation adds their own unique character to the overall texture of the piece which ensures an absorbing and continually interesting listening experience.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of classical will enjoy this highly melodious and engaging composition.

Artist target suggestions: Danny Elfman, James Horner, John Ottman, John Powell, Marco Beltrami, John William, Mark Isham, George Fenton, James Newton Howard, Alexandre Desplat, Harold Kloser, Michael Kamen
