Tim Jake Jacobson - Hope
Pop, Adult Alternative
Minnesota, United States

Overall Impression: With a combination of faith and passion the latest single “Hope” from singer/songwriter Tim Jake Jacobson is an uplifting and inspiring song of belief and its permanence is defined by that belief. The song with its, bright, lively melody might inspire and motivate those still on the fence pondering life’s big questions and decisions, it might one song that might be able to give you some insight or answer. This song will appeal to listeners who are spiritually minded and introspective, listeners who are looking for something bigger, that can not necessarily be seen or heard at first listen. The message of the song is done in a subtle, yet memorable way that is not easy to forget.

Strongest Point(s): With a beautiful, uncomplicated melody, yet one that is filled with a variety of tones and sounds, it further shines when that melody comes together with an intricate and varied composition that includes a stellar instrumental performance. The melody and instrumental performance come together to create a well-blended and harmonious piece. In the song, Jacobson uses a variety of tones and instruments to create his sound, from bass to violins there’s a little bit of everything. The song begins and ends with a unique choral tone, in the way of a hum or chant that creates a sort of echoing effect. The overall sound and tone of the song is akin to instrumental or classical music with an underlying Celtic-like tone, that would appeal to listeners of those genres or those who appreciate easy-listening music. The song however seems to morph itself once again to a rousing symphony and blast of sound with a crescendo coming from the keyboards, guitar, drum, and bass. However, as the song winds down, the song transforms like a chameleon once again with the sound of xylophone and steel drums emanating a Jamaican island feel to the song.
