Overall Impression: "Life" is the latest release from veteran singer/songwriter Peter Demuth. This track is both introspective and gorgeous, as it finds Demuth reflecting on the inherent peaks and valleys of a life well-lived. Droning acoustic guitar is augmented by melodic bass and lush strings, while psychedelic electric guitars stab and swirl, filling in the cracks and crevasses. All of this provides the perfect sonic backdrop for Demuth's vocals, as he plainly and confidently delivers his sagaciously inspirational message, encouraging the listener to persist and roll with life's many punches. Folk fans across the board should definitely check out "Life" as well as Peter Demuth's other work, available for streaming or purchase online.
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, excellent tonal balance to the mix. Great use of stereo space, this has a very wide and full sound. Nice arrangement, intro really sets the tone for the whole piece. Vocals are solid, the subtle harmonies are a nice touch. Guitars sound amazing, fantastic job of orchestrating the multiple parts. There's a lot going on musically, but the way it was structured, it doesn't feel busy or cluttered at all. Lyrically, it's straightforward and to the point. Very efficient, without sacrificing eloquence or prose. Strong, positive messaging as well. Overall, great song and a great track. Very nice work, all around!
