Lyn Sey - Where You Are
Country, Pop, Inspirational
Georgia, United States
Overall Impression: "Where You Are" is the latest heartfelt release from Georgia based singer/songwriter, Lyn Sey. This stirring tune chronicles the difficulties and challenges of maintaining a long distance romance, and features a gorgeous melody that's outlined by a warm and inspirational pop chord progression. Lyn Sey's lovely vocal is aptly supported by a lush arrangement, consisting of traditional rock and pop instrumentation and highlighted by an excellent guitar solo at around the midway point that leads up to a clever bridge and subsequent key change, showing off Lyn's impressive songwriting chops. Lyn Sey's "Where You Are" should have little problem finding an audience, especially among pop fans of a certain age who appreciate quality song craft.
Strongest Point(s): Solid production, nice mix. Outstanding arrangement, has a lot of elements of 1980s top40 to it (including that great modulation coming out of the guitar solo). Fantastic vocal performance, it sounds great. Background harmonies are also really well done. Lyrically, it's very emotional and honest as well as relatable to anyone who's ever been separated from a loved one. The beautiful melody and classic pop progression are definitely the hallmarks of this track, and what i think will leave a lasting impression on the listener. Great work on this song, all around.
