Overall Impression: "One That Got Away" is the gorgeous new release from Georgia based singer/songwriter, Lyn Sey. This heartbreaking country ballad is highlighted by a lovely melody that's splendidly carried by Sey's stirring vocal performance, and aptly supported by a wonderfully lush pop arrangement that features truly exquisite background vocal harmonies, as well as some interesting static modulation and engaging tonal shifts. Thoughtful lyrics and top notch songwriting make Lyn Sey's "One That Got Away" an easy recommendation for any pop or country enthusiasts who appreciate quality song craft. Music fans should absolutely not let this one get away from them!


Strongest Point(s): Excellent production, nice overall mix. Has a pleasantly relaxed energy to it. Good separation of the instruments, via proper eq and use of stereo space. Vocal sits well in the mix. Background vocals are outstanding, they really make this track shine. The modulations in the arrangement are great, they really spice things up and draw the listener in. Lyrics are solid, couple great lines sprinkled in there. All in all, it's definitely a great track. Fantastic work, from top to bottom!
