The Muster Point Project - Time To Go
Rock, Indie Rock
Calgary, Canada

Overall Impression: It’s never too late, should be the motto of singer/songwriter Kevin Franco otherwise known as the one-man-band “The Muster Point Project”. Franco who has been playing music since he was 15, is a skilled guitar player and over the years has honed and perfected his sound as well as his singing and songwriting skills which he just began this past November at the age of 52. His latest single “Time to Go” is the 10th song written in a challenge that Franco was inspired to create for himself 100 songs in 100days and with it turns out to be a success. Fans of country-rock, and folk genres will appreciate The Muster Point Band’s musical offerings and point of view

Strongest Point(s): Perhaps, the strongest trait of this track, is the personal and emotional journey and honesty that The Muster Point Band takes you on as a listener through the song’s lyrics and instrumental performance. The guitar is played effortlessly, with beautifully plucked and played slow country chords. The element of the tambourine brings a nice balance and nuance to the song along with the drums, it creates a mix of country and folk. It’s a bittersweet melody, with a slightly somber tone. It’s a song, about feeling stuck or torn about a decision and situation one needs to make. The struggle between knowing what needs to be done and actually doing it. The lyrics display and explain that struggle nicely. It’s a song about uncertainty, but having to just rip off the band-aid and do what needs to be done and move on. There are two instrumental breaks, where each instrument is doing something unique and going off in their own direction, if you listen to any one instrument it makes sense, altogether not so much - kind of like the thoughts going through your head when you know ‘it’s time to go’.

Target Audience Appeal: For Fans of Indie rock, rock, alternative, and Alt. Rock.

Artist target suggestions: Marcy Playground, Beck, Hole, Nirvana, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, Boz Scaggs, The Allman Brothers Band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Doobie Brothers, and Steely Dan
