Marty DeRoche - Come to the Water
Christian/Gospel
Illinois, United States

Overall Impression: Wonderfully wholesome and containing a great amount of grace and refinement, "Come To The Water" is an undeniably passion-filled piece of songwriting that ebbs and flows beautifully. Marty DeRoche has crafted a strong track that is filled with superb performances, delicate melodic writing, and a grand sense of calm and assuredness, which is much needed in these particularly uncertain times.

Strongest Point(s): The performances are excellent across the board, the lead vocals bring the equally strong lyrics to life, injecting them with an added sense of purpose and meaning whilst also being superbly embellished with exceptionally solid backing vocals, this results in a particularly rich sounding texture that feels not only organic but brilliantly nuanced in nature. As with the vast majority of Christian/gospel-based songs, there is an undeniable soothing and tranquil quality to the lyrics and performances that set it apart from other genres, and this track does a fantastic job of accomplishing that feeling, you really can't help but feel at peace whilst listening, and I think that is a clear testament to how effective the songwriting is. Great songwriting and arranging can so often be let down by a sub-par recording and overall mix, but thankfully this is certainly not the case here, all elements of the track are crystal clear, and given the adequate space they require to really breathe in the mix, this ensures all of the intricate details of the performance are both successfully captured and heard and the tracks many diverse ideas are expressed in the best way possible.

Target Audience Appeal: This track will certainly appeal to fans of Christian-based music genres, such as gospel, and audiences will surely have a lot to take away from it.

Artist target suggestions: Amy Grant, Marvin Sapp, Sandi Patty, Yolanda Adams, Tamela Mann, Fred Hammond, Donald Lawrence, Donnie McClurkin, James Fortune, The Clark Sisters, Daryl Coley, The Staple Singers
