Overall Impression: Gleaming with tasteful guitar, great lyrics, and brilliant performances all around, "Nitemare Into Digital" is a brilliant piece of rock songwriting, the type of track that makes you want to pick up a guitar yourself and jam along with, and I think it's safe to say that any tune that accomplishes such a feat has definitely got something. As the name would suggest, AxemannThirsty certainly knows his way around the "axe" and fires of a barrage of blistering fretboard flourishes throughout that not only dazzle but seep in both style and flair and combined with the plethora of catchy hooks and great energy, it makes for a strong rocker of a song that I thoroughly enjoyed, great work!
Strongest Point(s): Let's begin with the superb guitar playing, both graceful and articulate, the short and ultra-melodic licks that are interspersed throughout remind me of Mark Knopfler's refined and classy approach to the instrument and every time that lead guitar kicks in, it's tremendously engaging. The guitar is equalled by a great lead vocal performance, expressing the lyrics with great confidence and decorum, they showcase an incredible sense of passion and fits the style of the track extremely well. The instrumentation has some nice additions apart from the standard rock setup of guitar, bass, vocals, and drums, synth is used to great effect in the opening, helping to set a particularly atmospheric scene that acts as a great way to lead into the first verse. Ethnic percussion is also an inspired choice to add to the track and helps provide extra layers to the songs diverse texture.
Target Audience Appeal: This will please rock fans and guitar lovers alike, with great riffs, stylish licks, and plenty of great energy.
