AxemannThirsty - Everything I Love
Rock, Pop

Overall Impression: Having reviewed a previous track by AxemannThirsty, I had a good idea of what type of listening experience I was in for when going into "Everything I love", great guitar playing, solid songwriting, and a stellar arrangement, and I can happily say that this is exactly what I got. "Everything I love" is a great country blues rocker that combines confident writing with brilliant playing, not only does AxemannThirsty showcase excellent chops and genre awareness, but he shows great personality in his lyric writing, offering a fun and quirky tale that is both engaging and full of character.

Strongest Point(s): The previous song that I had the good fortune of reviewing by AxemannThirsty was a melodic rocker, this track, however, takes a brilliant turn down the country lane, and I think this is a clear testament to how versatile the artist is, not only being able to effortlessly write in different styles but also being fully aware of the subtle nuances that give the country genre that certain "sound", the walking bass, the open string licks, and that quintessential "train" beat, there all here and help to create a feeling of authenticity. The vocal performance is solid, and I particularly like how the vocals have been doubled up in places, it really helps to emphasize certain sections of the lyrics and adds to the overall texture of the song considerably. The guitar lines that are interspersed throughout are excellent and really capture that country flavor, and when the instrumentation is stripped back to give space for the lead guitar to inject some great licks, it works extremely well, those rising open string arpeggios at 1:23 are marvelous. The diverse melodic content is backed by an energetic rhythm section that keeps the energy levels of the track continuously high, which definitely works in its favor, the upbeat nature of the song fits the lyrical subject matter perfectly.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of country blues will enjoy what this track has to offer, and guitar enthusiasts will love the playing on display.

Artist target suggestions: Jackson Browne, Jerry Reed, Danny Gatton, Brent Mason, The Highwaymen, Arlen Roth, Brooks & Dunn, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Steve Miller Band, Dire Straits, Albert Lee
