Dave Darque - Your Heart Was a Song
Rock, Pop
Trondheim, Norway

Overall Impression: Your Heart Was a Song is a new release by Nordic artist Dave Darque. A moderately paced balled, Your Heart Was a Song opens with gentle piano and organ before the vocals come in. Serenading with what appears to be a personal tale, Darque's lyrics tell the story of a two lovers separated by sea but whose memories endure through time. Darque's voice is full of confidence and hope, and carries listeners through this heart-felt ballad. As the song progresses, the layers of instrumentation build in intensity and erupt with a blazing guitar solo at the song's end. A veteran musician, Dave Darque shows a softer side to his artistry with Your Heart Was a Song.

Strongest Point(s): The gradual building of intensity and passion in the instrumental work is very nicely done. Using a guitar solo as a finale is a very cool touch. The lyrics also paint a pretty vivid picture and have a relatable message of lost love that has endured through time.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of 80's rock ballads will enjoy Your Heart Was a Song by Dave Darque.

Artist target suggestions: Duran Duran, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, U2, Tears for Fears, Poison, Motley Crue, Dokken, Warrant, Ratt
