Overall Impression: Combining a great sense of melody with sprightly rhytmic movement, Paolo Di Carlo has conjured up a nice thick slice of Rock-infused songwriting that is both inspired and well arranged. "Never Enough " is a catchy and often surprising rock anthem that takes some interesting and unexpected twists and turns along the way, ensuring the listener is always kept engaged.
Strongest Point(s): Firstly the vocal performance is strong, smartly understated whilst retaining great expression. The use of backing vocals really helps strengthen the main vocal lines and adds a sense of urgency to the lyrics which works extremely well, harmonizing the vocal melody really adds extra depth and tonal layers to the performance and fits with the genre perfectly. The interlude at 2:13 works extremely well, taking the song in a slightly darker direction in terms of harmony and nicely breaking up the song to add further interest to the listener. I particularly like the slightly ominous melodic line in the vocals at 2:18, whilst sounding similar to the previous vocal melodies, the unexpected chromatic movement really throws the listener off-balance for a moment, a tonal shift such as this can prove to be a powerful songwriting tool when done correctly, which is certainly the case here. The overall mix is strong, with a few areas that could with some slight alterations but we'll get to those in the next section. All instruments are clear and concise and have a great distinction from one another as well as great individual clarity. The intermittent guitar solos throughout help add variety and break up the song nicely. This is a confidently put-together song, with a good eye for detail, and a strong sense of genre awareness, well done!
