Gary Anthony - After Today (I'll Call You Just A Friend)
Pop, Easy Listining, Great American Songbook
Neveda, United States

Overall Impression: "After Today (I'll Call You Just a Friend)" is the latest offering from Las Vegas based singer, Gary Anthony. Well regarded as a Frank Sinatra impersonator, Anthony fully embodies Old Blue Eyes' style and sound on this original song that recalls the great crooners of the 50s and 60s. Highlighted by a lovely string arrangement and punctuated by a brilliant solo saxophone, this bittersweet tale of love lost is sure to tug at audience's heartstrings for many years to come. Top shelf production and musicianship make this an easy recommendation for any fans of the golden age of vocal jazz.

Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, really great mix. Nice intro, sets the tone and establishes the melody. The vocal sounds great, very warm and intimate. Love the sax, it does an excellent job of filling in the empty spaces and playing off the vocal, and the solo is just scintillating. Lyrically, I feel like you really nailed that Sammy Cahn vibe and flow perfectly. Great song, great track, really great job all around!

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Vocal Jazz, Jazz Pop, Adult Contemporary, Easy Listening

Artist target suggestions: Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Michael Buble, Mel Torme, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Harry Connick Jr
