Fiction Syxx - Innocence
Rock, Progressive Rock, Melodic Rock
Arkansas, United States

Overall Impression: Innocence is the latest release from Prog Rock group Fiction Syxx. Opening with a wall of fine intertwining guitar work, listeners are soon treated with Mark Lanoue's subtle yet powerful vocals. Focusing on a message of humility and realization, the lyrics remind listeners to appreciate what they have and live in the present. Full of stunning guitar and vocal work, Innocence is what would happen if Dream Theater and Whitesnake decided to address the nation but needed a new band to do it. Already gaining its deserved attention, Innocence is a killer song by Fiction Syxx sure to power the band's imminent rise.

Strongest Point(s): Lanoue's singing is very powerful and his skilled use of vibrato is a refreshing respite from the straight-tone singing inundated in today's rock music. As a guitarist, I was also struck by the well orchestrated work from the rhythm and lead guitars.

Target Audience Appeal: This radio-friendly release by Fiction Syxx will certainly appeal to fans of Dream Theater, Jag Panzer, King Kobra and other prog rock groups, but has the ability to cross over into a more main stream market and reach fans of classic, alternative, and hard rock, too.

Artist target suggestions: Dream Theater, Bon Jovi, Alter Bridge, Sound Garden, King Kobra, Kings of Leon, Judas Priest, Whitesnake
