Raynald Grenier - Sweet Moments (from Dolci Momenti Album)
Classical, Easy Listening, Dream Mood
Quebec City, Canada

Overall Impression: "Sweet Moments" is the beautifully understated and aptly named opening track on composer Raynald Grenier's Dolci Momenti album. Starting out with a delicate motif, outlined on harp and woodwinds, the piece gently swells into a wonderful crescendo over the next four minutes, culminating in a stirring pinnacle of brass and choir. The theme allows for some very interesting harmonic instances, with some lovely borrowed chords for the melody to pass through. Towards the end, the more powerful voices give way once again to the harp and winds, and we're shown our way out through the same door through which we entered.

Strongest Point(s): I felt that the orchestration and composition were very strong. The themes were both uplifting, as well as slightly mysterious. You did a really fine job of assigning the right voices to the right instruments, at the proper moments. The slow build pays off, around the four minute mark. I think it's a very nice piece, maybe as a cinematic or video game underscore.

Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Classical, Soundtracks, Musical Theater, Fantasy, Cinematic

Artist target suggestions: Howard Shore, Tangerine Dream, Basil Poledouris, John Williams, Trevor Jones, Hans Zimmer, Ramin Djawadi, Max Richter, Alan Silvestri, Jeremy Soule, Jeff Russo
