The Neanderthal Feather Walker Band - Girls At School
Rock, Rock and Roll
New York, United States
Overall Impression: Neanderthal Feather Walker Band might be the best group you've never heard of. Their track, Girls At School, plays like an homage to the greats of rock and roll - the familiar driving of the drums and bass mingling with skilled guitar and vocal work to conjure images of muscle cars and and neon-lit dive bars while still bringing an edge that is completely original and unique. The sound they strike as a group is so cool, no fool!
Strongest Point(s): That bass guitar riff is my new favorite sound! Perfect tone, energy and execution - and that's true of all the musicians here. There's a really magical quality to the sound of this song - blending a lot of influences in the rock genre into a cohesive and exciting tune with some absolutely killer guitar work and a rock steady rhythm section. Massively skilled solos! The vocals are aggressive and clear, and the band sounds like they've been together for a while at the time of the recording. Love the feel shift into that chaotic fade out!
Target Audience Appeal: I really think that with some re-mastering, there's a wide audience for this sound. It's nostalgic but fresh, original but familiar. Having played in somewhat similar sounding bands in the past, I can attest that this kind of rock isn't as widely received as it used to be, but those that like it love it fiercely - it can spread like wildfire in circles of like-minded musicians. Try to plug into rock-oriented online communities and distribute it there - the amount of skill and talent you've captured speaks for itself
Artist target suggestions: Deep Purple, Warrant, Led Zeppelin, Tesla, Dio, Rainbow, Uriah Heep, Skid Row, Damn Yankees, Poison
