Scott Morlock - This Is My Hollywood
Pop, Rock, Adult Contemporary
Alabama, United States

Overall Impression: Sit up straight, because Scott Morlock is bringing a level of classy, high voltage energy to the world of Pop Rock that hasn't been seen in years! This Is My Hollywood is rife with down home humility wrapped inside a candid celebration of the performance lifestyle that is absolutely addictive. The energy that springs forth in Morlock's powerful, elated vocals and soaring range pairs perfectly with an exquisite piano melody, nimbly executed, for a joy that is almost evangelical. From incredibly catchy grooves to powerhouse composition, Scott Morlock's chops as a veteran entertainer are on full display in This Is My Hollywood, enhanced by one hell of a band, for a hard-hitting pop hit worthy of New York, Hollywood, the best neighborhood bar, or anywhere else Morlock chooses to be.

Strongest Point(s): Scott Morlock's vivavcity, technical prowess, and delivery are really the heart and soul that sell this track. His lyrics are mature and well fleshed out, vividly descriptive yet never overly verbose, and utterly charming. Additionally, the composition is catchy and nuanced, with details like a killer guitar solo and sublime backup singers that fill This Is My Hollywood out as a polished masterpiece.

Target Audience Appeal: It seems that Scott Morlock has long since found his calling as a live entertainer, and should absolutely continue to flourish in what he is already doing. Considering the long list of credentials and experiences, he is already well aware that his music has VERY broad demographic appeal, and can be wildly successful in large venues all over. While getting new music on the radio can be a bit of a challenge in the Pop arena, which is highly chart-driven, Morlock is prime material for independent radio stations across the country, and would be a brilliant feature for public radio such as NPR's Fresh Air, or Tiny Desk series, which can garner mass appreciation and traction from a different angle. With his attention to detail and compositional talents, it would also be fascinating to see Morlock collaborate on a theme for a Television show, or movie.

Artist target suggestions: Billy Joel, Don Henley, Marc Cohn, Five For Fighting, Bruce Hornsby, Joshua Kadison, Uncle Kracker, John Waite, Gavin DeGraw, Glenn Frey, The Script
