Overall Impression: Joanna Ramirez marks her triumphant return to the music industry after a brief hiatus, with the title track to her 2020 album, On My Way. The Austin, TX based artist is in top form on this stirring number that harkens back to the soul and r&b artists of the 70s, without sounding the least bit dated. Modern production techniques give this song a very fresh and contemporary sound. The lyrics reflect the tale of her personal narrative, an inspirational message of returning to the top of one's game. Featuring a beautifully crafted melody, a tight rhythm section that sits right in the pocket, and topped off by a brilliant jazz guitar solo, there's a lot to like about Joanna Ramirez's "On My Way".
Strongest Point(s): Outstanding production, nice full and wide sound. Nice intro. Great melody, background vocals do an excellent job of support in the chorus. The guitar solo is amazing, really has that Wes Montgomery sound, very nice. The synth wash sounds great, especially in the breakdown/bridge section. Gives it a nice, modern sheen. Very solid track all around, and congratulations on your return to the stage!
