Patrick Adams - Amazing Lisa Rocks Pop, Children's Nevada, United States Overall Impression: What a fun song! Patrick Adams and Annie Lynn come together to create a seriously fun sound - perfectly setting the scene for Amazing Lisa, who rocks! With brightly inspiring instrumental tones and talented voices, Amazing Lisa Rocks is catchy, clever, and sure to have you and your kids singing along in no time! Strongest Point(s): I love the percussion and harmonica. The energy is strong but gentle - really encouraging for young listeners! These lyrics really set up what sounds like a really fun series, and Annie Lynn's vocals are quite soothing and obviously talented. The kids' chorus is perfectly inclusive and really fills out the sound. Again - fantastic percussion during the fade out. I can totally see a group of kids getting into it and asking for another play or two... hundred. Target Audience Appeal: This is definitely going to do best with children and their parents - especially if there are books to go with it. Every part of Amazing Lisa Rocks is exactly what kids want in a song - it's catchy, the lyrics are magical, the instrumentals are fun, the vocals are comforting, and it even includes the voices of other children. Patrick Adams and Annie Lynn have made something really special here - my only question is where can I get the book? Kiersten Rose - When Stars Begin to Fall Christian/Gospel, Indie Folk, Indie Jazz Missouri, United States Overall Impression: St Louis, Missouri's Kiersten Rose trades in the traditional Jazz influences of her project Adonis Blue, for a more layered, Progressive-Indie Rock inspired sound, with her original Advent Anthem, When Stars Begin To Fall. Through a distant ambience, a lone piano and cello merge together, as Kiersten describes the universal appeal of the philosophy of Christs original message to humanity, as understood in the Christian faith. And as a squall of guitar feedback slowly rises Kiersten relates the message of faith, and how powerful it is. Especially during the worst times of life. Or, when stars begin to fall. The music now dominated by a gorgeous blend of ethereal guitar textures and a steady, pounding rhythmic tom section, gives way to a humbled male voice repeating the phrase, O come O come Emmanuel And ransom captive Israel, echoing Christ's message of liberation from captivity and oppression. Repeating this mantra, Kiersten joins with the words Jesus Come, O come O come Emmanuel, and as both voices join in unison, the musical intensity grows until the guitars and drums fade quietly away. Leaving Kiersten to remind us all that In days of distress and dark nights of sorrow, that no matter what your background or beliefs, humanity can feel the universal love of God the strongest, when the stars begin to fall. Strongest Point(s): Kiersten's vocal delivery is passionate and powerful. With a strong sense of yearning in her voice. She truly has a strong conviction in her delivery. The music production sounds great from the first ambient textures, to the last note of the piano. There's some interesting interplay of vocal parts within the duets. And the phrasing of the vocals in general feels pretty unique. Target Audience Appeal: Modern CCM fans, fans of emotive Indie-Rock and Progressive-Rock. Holiday songs are usually packaged in a few very repetitive flavors, but it's not often you get some very ethereal, and sonically rich rock oriented Christmas music. And with a lyrical message that perfectly reflects the concept behind the Advent Season, this track could surely find a wide range of appeal both within and outside of the CCM market. Artist target suggestions: Starfield, Rich Mullins, Coldplay, Lincoln Brewster, Natalie Grant, Michael W. Smith, U2, Nichole Nordeman, The Call, Point of Grace, Amy Grant, Ginny Owens, Avalon, etc. Interested in having your Song Reviewed by our Professional Staff? Kicking right off with blasts of joyful brass, jazzy piano and soaring strings, Dr. SasT passionately delivers a message of hope and goodwill, intoning that this year it's time to celebrate for a reason. What that reason is, is up to you dear listener. Wild Wisteria - Not for Silver or for Gold Alternative/Alt. Rock, Folk Rock, Blues Adelaide,Australia Overall Impression: Bubbly marimba and bright harmonica pave a colorful path for Wild Wisteria's classic Folk Rock song, "Not for Silver or for Gold"! Bearing a depth and quality of sound that treats the ears and inspires the mind, "Not for Silver or for Gold" lyrically unpacks a perspective that values human connection more than material wealth, emphasizing the emotional implication of these ideas through quirky and unexpected developments in song structure and instrumentation. Strongest Point(s): Brilliant part writing for the instrumental components - the marimba and harmonica add a levity to the experience that really keeps things lifted throughout, and the contrasting marching snare delivers a sense of resolute persistence on the outlined lyrical path that feels viscerally engaging! Fantastic overall feel, and a great representation of Wild Wisteria's vocal skill and stylization. "Not for Silver or for Gold" is an unusual song with a salient premise and a striking polish, making for a fully memorable listening experience! Target Audience Appeal: Fans of Folk and Americana classics will find this quirky original to be a rewarding listening experience, hearkening back to those forebears with an edge of modernity that allows "Not for Silver or for Gold" to transcend specific demographical appeal. Tony Mortley - Santa’s Mayhem Folk, Pop, Country Sevenoaks,United Kingdom Overall Impression: Tony Mortley takes the narrative perspective of a disgruntled Father Christmas in the original tune, "Santa's Mayhem"! Melancholically plucked strings form a simple but emotionally salient backdrop for Mortley's pensive vocal performance - revealing the lyrical contents of "Santa's Mayhem" to be a parodical plea for termination as St. Nick states, "All I want for Christmas is a P45". Strongest Point(s): The entire premise is very humorous - taking such a lackluster tone with a figure that's traditionally steeped in jolliness creates a richly entertaining cognitive dissonance! The chorus line is clever, and while the nature of a P45 form may be somewhat esoteric, those that get the reference will find it to be deeply amusing. Tony's vocal approach suits the song well, and falls easily into the realm of low-energy but high-expressivity artistry. Very creative work! Target Audience Appeal: "Santa's Mayhem" should resonate among those that identify as the Scrooges and Grinches of the world, as Tony Mortley's writing relays a dispassionate take on Kris Kringle's seasonal duties with stoic sincerity - guaranteeing a rise from like-minded listeners regardless of genre preference or cultural background!
