social media is great to build a foundation (of relationships with fans). You still need a great product that resonates with listeners. alas, if it ain't got that swing.... least that is what I believe at fugot music.

It is extremely hard to build a fan base outside of your small circle. Reaching fans world wide takes a lot of marketing which sadly takes a lot of money. Very frustrating. It's amazing how difficult it is just to get people to leave feedback.
