New Independent Stations On Jango

Jango Top Independent Genre Stations Album Cover
•UPDATED 09/18/12•

In July we expanded our independent station platform, and now we're adding two more popular stations to the mix - Top Latin & Top Blues. With 15 Airplay-based independent stations being promoted on Jango.com, we can increase your music's exposure and help you reach a larger fanbase. Thank you all for being part of Jango Airplay.

----

More and more bands are trusting Jango Airplay with their online music promotion and together you're helping make the service better every day.

A key component in reaching new Jango listeners is our Independent genre stations. These 13 stations are displayed on the front page of Jango.com and cover all kinds of genres from pop, rock & folk to dance/electronica and hip-hop. As great new bands join the ranks of Airplay each genre grows larger, and so we've decided to introduce two new independent stations on Jango: Top Independent Country & Top Independent Metal.

Playing in these stations are the top 100 Airplay bands and they're updated weekly to promote a healthy rotation of featured artists. The higher your popscore, the higher your chances are of being featured and if you make it to the Top 10 you're guaranteed rotation.

As more bands join we'll introduce new genre stations, so stay tuned for more updates. And as always - thank you all for being part of Jango Airplay.

Looking for station coverage that addresses bi lingual English/Latin crossover like L.A. Carpool, Carlos Santana, War,etc. Included should be latin jazz

All these years I have been with Jango and you never give us Jazz artists any credit. I'm seriously thinking of dropping out of Jango, even with my 1000+ fans.

I'm a JANGO artist (Lori Malvey) and would like to know: how do I get considered to be included on one of the genre stations? I'm on as an artist, but would love to be included in either the Easy Listening or Modern Christian genre stations. If you know, let me know!

We need a NEW AGE or ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENTAL genre. We get buried in the mix all the time and we are too hard to find. Get with the program! There are a lot of us on here.

We also need a FOLK genre. Sure I can sign up as a folk artist on the artist side of things... but on the listener side on Jango... there is NO FOLK on the drop down menu. Give us some credit already, and make us easier to find!

BTW... I've been a Top Ten artist 2 out of the last 3 weeks. It's a good thing I'm effective at finding the right target artists, because I'm sure not getting ANY help from you guys as far as listeners discovering my music.

Boo for Jango on this particular element of your radio stations.

Lori Malvey - by being eligible for popscore you're automatically considered for these stations. Each week we list the top 100 Airplay bands. To be eligible, make sure you allocate, and use, at least 100 Play Credits to one single song every week.

Anonymous - we already have an independent folk station on Jango, click the "Independent" tab on jango.com to view it. Our main genre tree is currently being revamped and we will probably include "Folk" as a separate genre category in the future.

when Jango starts to seriously promote Folk music I will start to seriously buy credits again. Why should I spend money on a station that spends most of its time on rock, hip hop and other "trendy" styles only. Jango is an awesome idea!and I want a fair chance at this innovated medium!
