Social Marketing Essentials

Jango radio promotion
In today's jungle of social networks it can be hard to decide which one provides the most value. It can be very time consuming to manage all your networks simultaneously, so making sure you're putting your efforts where it matters is key to getting the results you want. Our friends at CDBaby have yet again done a great job explaining how to use Facebook, Youtube, blogs and other social media so that you can connect with your fans.

CDBaby - Social Marketing Essentials for Musicians: Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon & YouTube

Your feedback is of great value to us, whether you're a Social Media guru or just very successful with your online promotion tell us your story & share your thoughts on how to use each medium. And as always - thanks for being part of Jango Airplay.

My experience with jango internet radio was interesting to say it best. I discovered lot's of marketing info on my band, as well as picking up 3 dozen emails and 457 fans, spent 7 benjamins on radio play and got heard in some 145 countries. But still was awash at how hard it is to get on the charts, you have to spend more to get there provided there is a nitch market for you. If interested to see we are at www.jango.com/music/L+A+Ryder for your review.

thanks!

We set up an account for Vern Gosdin last year just to test it out and we're getting as many hits as we do on the website. Unbelievable!

Thank J.A.

Good read, what I've found as an artist, is that the most important thing in Social Media Networking is the "Social" part. It's lost in the sauce for the most part.

I had a break from Jango (and life) for about a year.
Last year 250 credits on Good To Me would consistently get me a popscore in the 90s, occasionally 99 and twice in the top 10.
This year, same song, same targeting, and I've had a 72 and a 78..
What am I missing this year? Is my sound just not as fresh as it was 12 months ago? or is the competition now more numerous and of higher quality?

It really makes sense to also sign up to SoundExchange.com with all the internet stations. Jango tracks well and reports well. Soundexchange will help get royalties which is somewhat peanuts, but can offest marketing costs and just make you more legit all around.

I would like to know if Jango has ever affiliated with ASCAP, BMI or SESAC? Last time I checked with ASCAP about a year ago, they were still resisting to do a license. However, there used t be something on their info page saying they were affiliated. It is important to let artists and owners of masters know where they stand on this because if there are other copyright owners, they may not want the material up on the site.
