Get Featured on a Coast 2 Coast Mixtape

This week we have another great announcement. We have just partnered with Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes to create extra exposure for our top Jango Airplay hip hop artists.

Going forward we will be submitting the 5 hip hop artists on Jango Airplay with the best PopScore to Coast 2 Coast so they can select one of them to appear on one of their mixtapes with a major artist.

We thought it would be easiest if we let Nick from Coast 2 Coast explain a bit about it himself.

Hi Nick, explain Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes for our artists?

Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes are the most downloaded promotional mixtapes in the world released weekly and officially hosted by major urban recording artists. We have been blessed to work with over 100 signed artists to further their careers and online marketing, including artists such as: Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, DJ Khaled, Nas, Pharell, Keri Hilson, Chris Brown, Ciara, Lupe Fiasco, Gucci Mane and countless others. We allow independent artists to feature on every mixtape we release right alongside the major artists we help promote, allowing both artists to gain fans from each others fan pools. We also promote the mixtapes online to tens of thousands of websites, blogs and tastemakers, generating millions of impressions and downloads for all artists involved.

The Coast 2 Coast brand also includes a magazine, iTunes radio station, and DJ Coalition of over 850 mixtape DJs from around the world. Our network of both online fans and physical members allow Coast 2 Coast to reach a grassroots level of marketing in basically every urban market across the globe.

How does Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes work for artists trying to break through?

The opportunity to expose your music worldwide to fans while co branding with a major artist is unrivaled in the industry. Mixtapes are a great outlet to test new singles, showcase freestyles and other un-releasable material. They allow you to stay relevant in the industry without completing a full length project.

Becoming part of the Coast 2 Coast network also allows artists to be eligible for special offers and events through our music industry partners. From the annual Coast 2 Coast Convention to the Core DJ Retreats, Coast 2 Coast has a presence at every major industry event and partners with all major industry players, and opens them up to the independent artist.

Lastly, tell us a bit about the Jango/Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes partnership?

Using the Jango PopScore system we will be able to sort through thousands of potential artists and find the best music according to the fans. The top 5 Urban artists according to PopScore will be selected every week to compete for a spot on the major mixtape every month. Giving these top artists a 1/20 chance to be featured and all of them recognition and special offers from Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes and affiliates. Any artist can submit music to be considered for the mixtape on the Coast 2 Coast Website, or directly at www.coast2coastsubmissions.com but 1 lucky artist from the Jango system will be guaranteed to be featured with a major artist each month!

Following the selection of the featured artists they will benefit from the extensive promotions through Coast 2 Coast as well as additional support from Jango!

Thanks Nick, we're looking forward to it

How Was Your CMJ ?

We are finally back on out feet today after a solid five day music marathon of day parties, late night showcases and music industry panels. We heard some great music, met some great people and generally didn't sleep much.

But the real question is, how was your CMJ?

Did you play? Tell us about the gig. Attend any insightful panels? Who spoke and what did that have to say? Do you have any war stories? Lost equipment? Did you get signed? Sign a publishing deal? License your music? Tips for next year?

We had over 100 Jango Airplay artists play this years CMJ and probably many more than that were just here for the festivities, so tell us all about it in the comments.
