More Info On PopScore

Currently in beta testing, Jango PopScore is a rating based on the popularity of your songs among Jango's 7 Million listeners. The better people respond to your music, the higher your PopScore.

Every week you can earn free Play Credits based on this score, and the higher it is, the more free credits you get. About $5,000 worth of airplay will be given away each week!

How it works: Your Jango PopScore is based on weekly plays (Monday to Sunday). We publish the scores and credit the winners every Monday. Only Paid Plays count towards the Jango PopScore, and only songs that received at least 50 paid plays are eligible.

Premium Targeting

Top scoring bands will not only receive free Play Credits, but also promotion on Jango.com and our partner sites (in the form of charts, newsletter placement and more). In addition, top bands will be selected for sync licensing opportunities.

Why does my popscore change? Last weekend I had a 90, then a few days later I had an 88 for that week. A day or two ago, I had a 77 and today it's down to 72. Is there a logical explanation for these changing values?

Hi Dennis,

your pop score will change day to day depending on how listeners are reacting to your songs.

Hello, where can we read complete rules of the popscore please? thanks !

As per a previous post I too am confused by the methodology.Scores of 87 drop to 55 in a week when 100 new fans have joined obviously, it should go up not down.
So make the rules transparent, and available.
Lets not make that magic # 80 unattainable, if too many artists are scoring that high ...raise the bar.

Exactly. How is the Popscore calibrated. If more plays and more fans are being added, shouldn't it go up rather than down?

Are we judged by the ratio of likes to plays, or by the sheer number of paid play likes regardless of the number of paid plays?

Jango, your service is great. As with all ventures, it has grown, and now it has been 5 days since some of these comments have been up..... and no response. Please validate them, and let us know you will respond as soon as someone has the time:)

What kind of sync licensing opps are top jango artists considered for? I guess the only ones I know of that utilize sync licenses are film/TV (or performance based opps). Can you give more insight on this? Thanks.
