One thing I've found is that everyone has his or her own music taste. These guys just happen to work for Jango. However I suggest they let the listeners choose.

Have a nice X-mas :-)

I agree with anonymous, who are you kidding? If there is a payola scheme going beyond the one you already have let me know about it. I love your service, but if the real fans are not choosing the featured artist, how is it fair to give one artist preferential exposure over another. Bogus and biased. What about It's Ok Anthony Cole, a much better song choice I'd think

I am sure glad Jango came along. Music on the Radio is suffering, and the internet may be the one way to put music back in the hands of people again. I have been with Jango for four days and already have over 100 new listeners and fans from all over the world. It's a great way to get the word out. peace,
k

Do you have great music? We want to hear it! Go to http://www.bluesilingus.com to find out how to submit! We listen to Everything and will choose artists to be featured on our next CD. We love promoting new musicians!

You Guys need to understand that musical taste is a personal thing. Not even the so-called music executives/experts from major labels know what will be the next "BIG HIT" That's why the people should be given a chance to hear the music and let them judge. The public has the final say. Listen to this Guy http://www.jango.com/music/Paul+Ranger Many people love him.

Thanks Jango staff. I've been wrestling with what is the best strategy for promoting my music on your service. I will now give serious consideration to the fact that it may be better to post just one song instead of numerous. It may increase my chance of being selected favorite airplay artist of the week, as well as lowering the fees that I pay to have my music played.

Now I will carefully watch what you pick over the next few weeks to determine which of my songs to feature. At this point I have no idea. But I really do want to make the most of my scarce resources. Thanks again.

Happy Holidays.

I am too stoned to understand any of these comments. Getting stoned and listening to music is one of life's great pleasures. Getting stoned and reading blog comments is one of life's non-pleasures.

It is now time to pleasure yourself:

A lot of bitter artists here in the comments list (and its the holidays)
Good for this artist to get chosen. I am an artist on Jango (I won't say who because that's just cheesy self promotion) and if the Jango staff wants to feature their faves, all the power to them. Have some pride in what you do (as artists). Jealousy, bitterness, sour grapes and the like are unbecoming. There's no conspiracy. Keep writing, playing, loving what you do and good things will happen. Happy New Year to all!

listen to oh, clemency!

Pay olla .. Just like the big players taking money from the indie- you guys need to get the top ten indie and blog them around the internet with at least an email blast.
athat music sucks . Let the fans choose.

I have been around the music biz for 20 years. What I have found is that alot of young artists, writers, musicians.... have a hard time seeing past thier own creations. I am not jumping up and down over Ms. Torrisi either.
She is, however, very unique. She has a jazz feel, that sounds like something from a broadway musical like "Chicago", or "All That Jazz".
Using a bad review to promote your own music will only come back to bite you in the but.
This "Friday pick", has only just started. The "Jango" staff is only telling you what they were listening to.
As far as taking songwriters money, $100 for 4,000 plays is 3,999 more plays than you would get on a commercial station. And, your music is heard all over the world.
Maybe your time to be played on Friday will come around. In a nut shell, Welcome to the music business!

Don't forget about Dimeshift

Hi Jango. I have to say I must agree with a few of the comments that are being posted. The styles of music featured on the station seem much too vast to choose just one artist and really be fair about it. If that would be the case, there would never be a grammy R and B and Country, or Artist of the Year or Best Group. Maybe there should be categories. MY fans are happy with my style and my music. I now have fans and listeners and comments all over the world supporting my music, so where is the category for Soul Gospel? Hope I made my point. Until then I will continue to bless and minister all over the world through my music. Its all about God anyway. Thanks

How do you get considered for the staff favorite? Thanks, Gail Swanson :)

Any more songs by Slide? I love the song "January-Feel Like Dancing" that is currently playing...great Club track--their song should be a New Years Eve Anthem !!

Well, it's not my cup of tea, but that doesn't make it bad. It does sound like there are a lot of bitter artists on here. I'm not going to hate on Jessie just because her music style isn't what I'm into. I'm gonna say ROCK ON JESSIE FOR BEING A STAFF PICK! ;) And forget the haters ;)

What about Max the Cat???? Check me out!

Hi Gang,

just so you know, the Friday Staff Picks are quite random indeed. We just post a band or two that we come across and happen to like as the staff here. I guess it's a way of sharing what we happen to like.

We do of course post bands that are rated by the listeners, this is part of what the PopScore is for. So look out for those bands too.

We're working on all kinds of options to create more exposure for our bands.

Stay Tuned !!!
